         <title>Bilan des vendanges 2008</title>
         <description><![CDATA[<p>Apr&egrave;s 9 jours (du 25/09 au 3/10), les vendanges sont termin&eacute;es, une dur&eacute;e normale pour notre Domaine.</p><p><img src="http://blog.williamfevre.com/P9293838.JPG" width="100" border="0" />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <img src="http://blog.williamfevre.com/P9263670.JPG" width="100" border="0" />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <img src="http://blog.williamfevre.com/P9273779.JPG" width="100" border="0" />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <img src="http://blog.williamfevre.com/P9293875.JPG" width="100" border="0" />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </p><p>A l&rsquo;heure du bilan :<br />- La comp&eacute;tence des &eacute;quipes et leur implication quotidienne au cours de la p&eacute;riode v&eacute;g&eacute;tative sont &agrave; l&rsquo;origine de l&rsquo;excellent &eacute;tat sanitaire de notre vignoble &agrave; la date des vendanges.<br />- L&rsquo;effeuillage quasi syst&eacute;matique a permis une meilleure maturation des raisins.<br />- Les vendanges ont d&eacute;but&eacute; sous un temps id&eacute;al (frais, sec et ensoleill&eacute;).<br />- L'ordre a &eacute;t&eacute; plut&ocirc;t classique, avec au d&eacute;but les terroirs les plus solaires (Vaud&eacute;sir, Vaillons) et les vignes les moins charg&eacute;es (vieilles vignes).<br />- Le tri sur table a &eacute;t&eacute; tr&egrave;s rapide compte tenu de la vendange rentr&eacute;e en parfait &eacute;tat.<br />- Les degr&eacute;s &eacute;taient tr&egrave;s bons, (12&deg; &agrave; 13&deg; naturels) car la maturit&eacute; s'est faite par concentration gr&acirc;ce au soleil et au vent du nord qui a souffl&eacute; durant les 15 jours pr&eacute;c&eacute;dant les vendanges.</p><p>Nous sommes tr&egrave;s satisfaits et confiants dans la qualit&eacute; du mill&eacute;sime 2008.</p><p>A l'heure qu'il est, les fermentations se terminent d&eacute;j&agrave;. Les premiers vins sont &eacute;quilibr&eacute;s avec beaucoup de fruit et une belle puret&eacute; aromatique. <br />Ceci laisse pr&eacute;sager un tr&egrave;s beau mill&eacute;sime, qui exprime toute la typicit&eacute; et l&rsquo;identit&eacute; des terroirs de Chablis et qui r&eacute;compense un travail minutieux &agrave; la vigne.</p><p>A bient&ocirc;t pour vous parler de l&rsquo;&eacute;volution de ce mill&eacute;sime 2008, en attendant laissons-le grandir doucement.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><h3 align="justify">RESULTS OF THE 2008 HARVEST</h3><p align="justify">The harvest is over after a period of 9 days (25/09 to 3/10) which is the normal length of time for our estate.</p><p align="justify">We are now able to&nbsp;state that :<br />- The daily work of our competent team during the growing period maintained the vineyards in perfect health right up to the harvest time.<br />- The almost systematic removal of leaves allowed better ripening of the grapes<br />- The harvest began in ideal weather conditions (cool, dry and sunny)<br />- The order of picking followed the usual pattern starting with the sunniest vineyards (Vaud&eacute;sir, Vaillons) and the vineyards with fewer grapes (old vines).<br />- Sorting was carried out quickly because the grapes were so healthy.<br />- Degrees were very good (a natural 12&deg; to 13&deg;)because the sugar in the grapes was concentrated due to the sun and north wind which blew during the two weeks preceding the harvest.</p><p align="justify">We are very satisfied and confident in the quality of the 2008 harvest.</p><p align="justify">At the moment, the fermentations are almost finished. The first wines are balanced with a lot of fruit and beautifully pure aromas.</p><p align="justify">We have high hopes for a very fine vintage which will show the individuality and identity of the Chablis &quot;terroirs&quot; and bring a reward for all the care we have taken in cultivating our vineyards during the year.</p><p>We will be in touch again very soon to tell you how this vintage evolves.          <title>DEBUT DES VENDANGES SOUS LE SOLEIL</title>
         <description><![CDATA[<p><img height="150" hspace="10" src="http://blog.williamfevre.com/1.jpg" width="142" align="left" border="0" /> Jeudi 25 Septembre, les premiers coups de s&eacute;cateurs.</p><p>Quelle ann&eacute;e&nbsp;!!! </p><p>Depuis Dimanche 14 Septembre, nous avons un temps ensoleill&eacute;, sec et venteux, id&eacute;al pour&nbsp; la maturation des raisins, mais que dire de Juillet - Ao&ucirc;t&nbsp;avec ses orages et son temps frais.</p><p>Cette ann&eacute;e, plus que jamais, le travail dans la vigne a &eacute;t&eacute; primordial et si l&rsquo;&eacute;tat de nosparcelles fait des envieux, c&rsquo;est gr&acirc;ce &agrave; l&rsquo;ensemble de nos vignerons et t&acirc;cherons, avec qui nous avons effectu&eacute; les bonnes op&eacute;rations au bon moment. <br /><br /></p><p><img height="150" hspace="10" src="http://blog.williamfevre.com/3.jpg" width="125" align="right" border="0" /><img height="150" src="http://blog.williamfevre.com/P9243606.JPG" width="200" align="right" border="0" /> Notre d&eacute;marche &laquo;&nbsp;raisonn&eacute;e&nbsp;&raquo;, dans le respect de l&rsquo;environnement, d&eacute;montre cette ann&eacute;e plus que jamais, l&rsquo;importance de l&rsquo;entretien de la vigne (la taille et l&rsquo;effeuillage ont permis une bonne a&eacute;ration des raisins afin d&rsquo;&eacute;viter la pourriture et une meilleure maturation).</p><p><img height="150" hspace="10" src="http://blog.williamfevre.com/4.jpg" width="163" align="left" border="0" />Nous avons d&eacute;but&eacute; les vendanges dans les parcelles de Chablis (Boucheran et Carcasseigne) ainsi que dans le Premier Cru Vaillons, o&ugrave; nous avons souvent l&rsquo;habitude de commencer en raison de la situation des parcelles et de l&rsquo;&acirc;ge des vignes.</p><p>Les vendanges devraient durer entre 10 et 12 jours. Nous sommes tr&egrave;s confiants sur la qualit&eacute; du mill&eacute;sime 2008 pour le Domaine William F&egrave;vre. A tr&egrave;s bient&ocirc;t pour un nouveau point vendanges.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong><font face="Times New Roman">THE HARVEST BEGAN IN THE SUNSHINE</font></strong></p><p><strong><span /></strong><font face="Times New Roman" /></p><p><font face="Times New Roman">Thursday 25th September, first snip of the secateurs. </font></p><p><span /></p><p><span /><font face="Times New Roman">What a year !!!</font></p><p><span /><font face="Times New Roman">Since Sunday, 14th September the weather has been sunny, dry and windy, ideal for ripening the grapes, after the two miserable months of July and August which were stormy and cold.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</font></p><p><font face="Times New Roman"><span /></font></p><p><font face="Times New Roman"><span /></font><font face="Times New Roman">This year, the work on the vine has been even more important than ever and the state of our vineyards could be the envy of all, due to the growers and workers with whom we carried out the right tasks at the right time.</font></p><p><span /></p><p><span /><font face="Times New Roman">Our&nbsp; policy with regard to the environment has shown more than ever this year the importance of maintaining healthy vines (pruning and the removal of leaves allowed the air to circulate around the grapes, avoiding rot and improving the ripening).</font></p><p><span /></p><p><span /><font face="Times New Roman">We began the harvest in the Chablis parcels (Boucheran and Carcasseigne),and in the Vaillons Premier Cru where we often start due to the location of the vineyards and the age of the vines.</font></p><p><span /></p><p><span /><font face="Times New Roman">The harvest should last for 10 to 12 days.</font></p><p><span /><font face="Times New Roman">We are very confident regarding the quality of the 2008 vintage for the William F&egrave;vre estate.</font></p><p><span /></p><span /><font face="Times New Roman">We will be in touch very shortly to let you have more news of the harvest.<br /></font><p>&nbsp;</p>]]></description>
